Mawlānā Idrīs Kāndeẖlawī completed his Islamic studies at Mazāhir al-ʿUlūm (Saharanpur) and Dār al-ʿUlūm Deoband. His esteemed teachers included luminaries such as Mawlānā Khalīl Aḥmad Sahāranpūrī, ʿAllāmah Shabbīr Aḥmad ʿUthmānī, and ʿAllāmah Anwar Shāh Kashmīrī. Distinguished as a scholar of ḥadīth and tafsīr, a poet, and an ascetic, he spent his life immersed in the sacred sciences and produced numerous valuable works in the fields of tafsīr, ḥadīth, and Islamic theology.
