A bookshop that runs on conversation
As-Subkī Books brings together classical Arabic texts, the Dars Nizami and Maktab syllabus, hadith, fiqh, tafsir and children's readers. Much of what we carry is difficult to find on the high street and expensive to import one copy at a time, so we buy in quantity and pass the price on.
Ordering, step by step
1. Build your basket
Browse or search the catalogue and add what you need. Stock counts on the site are live.
2. Send your request
Give us your name, email and whether you want delivery or collection. You will get an itemised confirmation straight away with a reference number such as ASB-4F7K.
3. Your books are set aside
Nobody else can request the same copies while we reply. Books already on the shelf are held for 48 hours: if we do not hear back within two days the hold lapses and they return to the shelf - nothing is charged and there is nothing to cancel.
Books coming in our next delivery are reserved rather than held. A reservation does not run out while you wait - it stands until the delivery arrives, however long that takes. We write the moment it is in, and from then you have seven days to reply before the copies go back on the shelf. If an order has both, it all travels together once everything has landed.
4. We send payment details
We reply with the total and how to pay - including postage if you asked us to post. Once payment clears we send the books and confirm by email.
If you are collecting there is no postage to pay, and you can settle in cash when you arrive if you would rather.
Looking for something we do not list?
Ask. We can often source a title, and new stock is announced on our Telegram channel first.
