Requests and payment

No payment is taken on this website. Send us your book request and we will confirm availability, the postage cost and the final total. You then decide whether to go ahead and pay directly by the agreed bank transfer or cash arrangement.

Books expected in a future shipment cannot be dispatched until they arrive. We will confirm the arrangements for any order containing books that are not yet on the shelf.

UK postage

We charge the customer what the postage costs us. The exact charge depends on the parcel and destination and is confirmed before you pay.

• InPost or Royal Mail: usually used for small single parcels of up to five books weighing under 2 kg. The usual delivery estimate is 48–72 hours after dispatch.
• DHL Premier 24: generally used for parcels over 2 kg or orders worth £50 or more. A box up to 23 kg usually costs £7–£8 to send, with delivery generally on the next working day after dispatch.

These are typical services, costs and estimates. We confirm the service and actual postage for your order; larger orders, additional boxes or destinations with carrier surcharges may cost more.

Processing and dispatch

We dispatch Monday to Thursday. Requests received on Friday, Saturday or Sunday are processed from the following Monday. Dispatch follows confirmation of stock and receipt of payment, unless we have agreed a cash arrangement. We will tell you about any delay and provide tracking where available.

Carrier delivery estimates start from dispatch, not from the time you submit a request. Bank holidays, customs checks and carrier delays can affect them.

Collection

Collection is available by arrangement. We confirm where and when to collect once your request has been agreed, and you can pay cash on collection if arranged.

Outside the UK

We offer worldwide shipping where a reliable carrier can serve your destination. We confirm the available services and total postage before you pay. Depending on the service you choose, import duties and taxes may be paid by us or payable by you; we make clear which applies before you accept the quote. International delivery times depend on the destination, service and customs clearance.
