About this edition
The Supreme Daily Remembrance (Al-Ḥizb al-A‘ẓam) - Bilingual Edition
Although several illuminated manuscripts of Al-Ḥizb al-A‘ẓam exist, no fully illuminated printed edition had been available until White Thread Press published one in 2015. For a book of prayers of such significance, illumination adds aesthetic beauty and enhances the reader’s spiritual engagement.
The English Translation
Since the original Arabic edition, public recitals (maqra’āt) of the full collection have been held worldwide, often followed by authorization ceremonies (ijāzah) for attendees. These gatherings inspired many to become regular readers of the book. Responding to demand, White Thread Press now presents a bilingual edition, with the Arabic text and facing English translation in a clear, visually appealing format.
No effort has been spared to create an edition that brings immense joy and facilitates devotion.
Features of this edition include:
-
Arabic Typeface: Adapted from the original naskh script of the renowned Syrian calligrapher ‘Uthmān Ṭahā,** whose legible and elegant hand also prepared the Madīnah Mushaf read worldwide.
-
Layout: Twelve lines of Arabic per page with corresponding English translation, enclosed in a decorative gold-and-red frame.
-
Printing & Design: Five-color printing on coated, varnished stock; sewn pages for durability; bound to lie flat for easy reading.
-
Illumination & Ornamentation: Gold and colored headpieces mark the introduction and first section; section titles are enclosed in embellished borders. The ninety-nine Names of Allāh are featured across two double-page spreads. Ornaments indicate verse endings, and commas suggest pauses suited to the meaning, rhythm, and rhyme of invocations.
-
Typography & Navigation: Classical Arabic manuscript style with modern typographical touches, including page numbers and marginal section heads with numerals for easy navigation. Halfway markers help divide each of the seven sections for multi-day completion.
-
Translation: The English text is concise, lucid, and faithful to the eloquence of the Arabic, avoiding unnecessary words or expressions.
-
Textual Basis: Primarily based on Indian editions, compared and emended with manuscripts from around the world to ensure accuracy. Sections from Saturday to Tuesday follow most manuscripts, while remaining sections follow the Indian editions.
-
References & Appendices: Full references for invocations, a bibliography of print and manuscript sources, and an updated ijāzah for the author.
-
Deluxe Binding & Finishing: Front and back covers feature the book title in gold foil with a central medallion and the author’s name; a debossed frame and arabesque pattern highlight the spine; ribbon marker included; gold gilding on page edges.
Available in three faux leather covers:
-
