About this edition

In the Presence of the Beloved presents an eloquent translation of two authoritative treatises on the practice of ziyārah-visiting the Prophet Muhammad Sallahu alayhi Wasalam. Both works offer a detailed study of the ruling, immense virtues, and proper etiquettes associated with this sacred act. They also thoughtfully address a range of related issues, including those that have become points of contention in modern discourse, such as the permissibility of tawassul (supplicating to Allah through the Prophet), tabarruk (seeking blessings through his relics), the unique virtues of the Rawḍah and Madinah, and the importance of visiting other revered historical landmarks in the Prophet’s city.
