ʿAlī ibn Abī Ṭālib (raḍiyallāhu ʿanhu) said:
“Refresh your hearts and engage in some light-hearted wit, for hearts become weary just as bodies do.”

Ibn al-Jawzī (raḥimahullāh) stated:
“The scholars have always shown an interest in light-hearted humour, lifting the spirits of others, for humour soothes the soul and relieves the heart of its burdens.”
