About this edition
The first part of this book aims to clarify key aspects of taqlīd that are often misunderstood or severely misrepresented. It highlights the necessity of taqlīd, traces its historical development, and explains its continued relevance and importance in the modern world.
The second part consists of several chapters dedicated to issues of ṣalāh (ritual prayer) according to the Hanafi school. Through clear examples and detailed analyses, these chapters demonstrate the sophisticated legal reasoning employed by the Hanafi madhhab-indeed, by all the established madhhabs-in deriving legal rulings from the primary textual sources of Islam. Every ruling presented is supported by evidentiary proofs from the Qur’an and Hadith.
Throughout the work, the author maintains a balanced and impartial tone. His purpose is not to provoke controversy or fuel polemics, but to present the facts in a lucid, rational, and accessible manner-appealing to the reader’s sense of reason while illuminating the depth and coherence of the Islamic legal tradition.
