Birr al Walidayn (Being Dutiful to Parents)

Birr al-Walidayn is a concise treatise on the subject of dutifulness to parents, recently published for the first time. Its significance lies in the fact that Imam al-Bukhari appears to be the first Muhadith to compile a work dedicated specifically to this topic. The treatise contains 75 ḥadīths, organised under various chapter headings that revolve around two central themes: being dutiful to one’s parents and maintaining family ties.
